Understanding Characteristics of Bramstone Basins and Accessories

At Bramstone, we create functional works of art with our handcrafted basins and accessories. Each piece is made-to-order using natural materials that preserve the natural aesthetic of a ceramic-type finish. It's important to note that our products possess certain characteristics that add to their unique beauty and should not be mistaken for warranty issues. Let's explore some of these characteristics:

Casting Pockets or Pin Holes:
Due to the casting or patterning process, small air pockets or pin holes may form on the surface of our basins. These pockets vary in size and number, adding to the distinctive texture and aesthetic of each piece. They are not defects but rather contribute to the natural characteristics of the basin.

Surface anomalies:
Due to the unique handcrafted nature of our basins and the variety of sealing methods used, there may be slight surface anomalies or variations in the sealer finish, such as small specks, indents from the hand made process or other minor imperfections - these are considered inherent characteristics of our products. All basins are completely sealed and waterproof.

Colour Variations:
No two custom Bramstone basins are exactly alike, and this is intentional. Our materials offer natural colour variations, resulting in a rich and textured appearance. Embrace the natural patina and the organic beauty it brings to your space. Our solid single colour basins are one colour all over, it is completely opaque and there are no variations in colour.

Flow Lines:
During the casting process, textural flow lines may be visible on the surface of our basins, which is where you may see more pigment. This is a result of the materials' viscosity during the casting process and the specific product moulds used.

Hairline Cracks:
Small fine hairline cracks that may appear on the surface. These cracks are a common occurrence in the natural curing process and do not impact the structural quality or performance of the basin. They are fully sealed and impenetrable by water, they are part of the natural process and do not affect the longevity of the product.

Colour and texture variations are inherent characteristics of Bramstone and should not be mistaken for defects in material, design, or workmanship.
