Installation
Proper installation of your Bramstone basin is crucial to ensure its long-lasting performance and beauty. Please follow these guidelines for a successful installation:
-
Positioning the Basin: The exact location of your basin is a matter of personal preference, based on the height and position most comfortable for the end user. When moving the basin into position, always keep it upright and avoid placing it on its side to prevent any potential damage.
-
Handling the Basin: To avoid scratching the basin's surface, use towels or gloves when handling it. This will help protect the basin's finish.
-
Clear Silicone Application: Run a clear silicone bead around the perimeter of the basin where it meets the benchtop. This creates a watertight seal and prevents any water or moisture from seeping into the installation area.
-
Avoid Tools in the Basin: During installation, it is important to avoid placing tools or other objects in the basin. This will prevent accidental damage or scratching of the basin's surface.
-
Waste Line Connections: The waste line connections will vary depending on the specific space and plumbing setup. Ensure that the waste height aligns with your chosen waste system. Use rubber seals on both the top and bottom of the waste to ensure a proper seal. Avoid overtightening the waste, as this can cause the basin to crack and will not be covered under warranty.
-
Use Flexible Sealant: All basins must be installed with a flexible type sealant. The use of non-flexible sealant, liquid nails, or epoxy of any kind will void the warranty and may cause damage to the product. It is crucial to select a sealant that allows for natural movement and expansion of the basin.
-
Flat and Clean Installation Surface: Ensure that the installation surface is flat, clean, and free of moisture. This will provide a stable foundation for the basin and prevent any potential issues or damage caused by an uneven or damp surface. Please check the weight of the basin against the surface you want to place it to ensure it can hold the weight.
By following these installation instructions, you can ensure a secure and reliable installation of your Bramstone basin. Proper installation will not only enhance the functionality of the basin but also help maintain its beauty and longevity over time.
